  • Security Breach and Crisis Communication Plans - Jerry Montella Vice President, Mail-Gard

With the growing number of companies experiencing security breaches, companies must focus, not only on prevention of such a breach, but on developing a plan on how they will react IF they should experience such an event.  This session will focus on developing a communications plan for informing both your internal and external customers.  From managing the data elements, to setting up business rules for messages, and determining you best avenues for message delivery are some of the details which will be reviewed during this presentation.  Security Breaches happen every day. July 2009

Topic:

Pandemic planners suggest that you plan for 30% to 40% absenteeism for two to three weeks over an eight week period. Can your company survive with that many of your most experienced employees gone permanently? That’s just what might happen at your company as baby boomers retire. Over the next ten years many companies will face a significant knowledge loss. This is a relatively new area for analysis caused by the realization that large numbers of baby boomers are approaching the initial retirement age of 62 years old. The key risk is ‘knowledge drain’ defined as the loss of key operations knowledge due to the departure of retirees. At this session you will find out how determine the size of the risk, present that information to management and discuss strategies to reduce the number of retiring boomers.

When: Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 2:00 PM (networking starts at 1:45)
Where: Cordova Library Meeting Room A, 8457 Trinity Road, Cordova, 38108 (map)

June 2009

Topic: Personal Defense and Safety

Special half-day event to celebrate our fifth anniversary!

With the increased concern about potential civil unrest and a recommendation from the InfraGard Board, we have contacted The Tier 1 Group about providing MSACP members a half day of instruction on personal defense and safety.

The Tier 1 Group located in Crawfordsville, AR, (just fifteen minutes from downtown Memphis) has invited the MSACP to be their guests for lunch and to participate in a company familiarization and site tour. This tour will include access to the Tier 1 firing ranges and instruction using a broad range of weapons. Weapons and ammunition will be provided. If you would like to bring your own personal defense weapon, you may but please abide by Tennessee and Arkansas transportation regulations.  Weather and time permitting, we will also receive instruction on their on- and off-road driving courses.

Please plan to arrive at Tier 1 no later than 11:30 PM on 10 June, 2009 for lunch and the tour that will conclude at approximately 5:00 PM.  Wear clothing and shoes that you don't mind getting dirty - this will be a hands-on, down and dirty event!

Instruction levels will be based on experience. We encourage those members that have never handled a weapon or have not had professional weapons instruction to participate. This is your opportunity to learn from the professionals.

THIS IS A "FREE" MSACP MEMBERS ONLY EVENT!  IF YOU ARE BEHIND IN YOUR MEMBERSHIP OR NOT CURRENTLY A MEMBER, RENEW OR JOIN NOW - THIS EVENT ALONE IS MORE THAN WORTH THE COST OF YOUR ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP!
