Previous Meetings

July 2008

Topic:

  • John Harvey will be presenting the new CyberWatch service developed by the Memphis Police Department. As part of their continuing effort to make our neighborhoods safer, it provides useful information about public safety and additional ways for the public to communicate with police. This service is currently available to community organizations, which in turn distribute the information to their members. It allows users to select a reporting radius based on either an address or an intersection, and receive a CyberWatch report via daily email. Future plans include providing access to a map of all of Shelby County divided into, what crime analysts call SRAs "small reporting areas," which will enable individuals to access the system directly by clicking on an area and generating a CyberWatch report or Real Time Crime Center data.
  • Stan Johnson will be presenting Print-to-Mail Recovery as an essential part of a company's continuity and recovery plans. While most companies understand the need for a recovery plan for their print and mail production facilities, time and budget constraints often hinder the process of implementing a plan. This session gives a detailed "how to" explanation for plan implementation and testing. Learning these important steps may save time and money when developing continuity plans specific to your print and mail production needs.
